1. Introduction

Frequensea ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Frequensea mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"). Please read this policy carefully. If you disagree with its terms, please discontinue use of the Service.

2. Information We Collect

Information You Provide Directly

When you create an account or use our Service, we may collect:

  • Email address and display name
  • Soul Quiz responses (personality and intention data used to personalise your experience)
  • Dream journal entries and morning reflection text you choose to record
  • Voice recordings you submit for voice cloning (Abyss tier only), stored securely and used solely to generate your personalised affirmation voice
  • Session history, ritual completions, and streak data
  • Feedback, support messages, or other communications you send us

Information Collected Automatically

When you use the Service, we automatically collect certain technical data, including:

  • Device type, operating system version, and app version
  • Anonymous usage events (screens viewed, features used, session durations) to improve the product
  • Crash logs and performance diagnostics
  • Push notification delivery status (not content)
  • Subscription status and purchase history (processed by RevenueCat; we do not store raw payment card data)

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and maintain your account and personalised Soul profile
  • Generate AI-synthesised affirmations tailored to your archetype and intentions
  • Schedule and deliver personalised notifications and ritual reminders
  • Track your streak, Ocean Clarity score, and progress across sessions
  • Process subscription purchases and manage entitlements
  • Respond to your support requests and communications
  • Analyse aggregate, anonymised usage patterns to improve features and fix bugs
  • Send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset) via Resend
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your journal entries, voice recordings, or reflection text for advertising purposes.

4. Third-Party Services

We work with the following carefully selected third-party providers. Each is bound by their own privacy policy and, where applicable, a Data Processing Agreement with us.

Supabase

Our primary backend database and authentication provider. Your account data, session records, journal entries, and profile information are stored in Supabase hosted on AWS. Supabase is SOC 2 Type II certified. See supabase.com/privacy.

ElevenLabs

Used to synthesise affirmation audio in your chosen voice. Affirmation text and, for Abyss subscribers, voice samples are transmitted to ElevenLabs solely for audio generation. Generated audio is cached in your Supabase storage bucket. See elevenlabs.io/privacy.

RevenueCat

Manages in-app subscription purchases, entitlements, and receipt validation for iOS and Android. RevenueCat receives your anonymised app user ID and purchase receipts; it does not receive your name, email, or journal data. See revenuecat.com/privacy.

Firebase (Google)

Used for crash reporting (Crashlytics) and anonymous usage analytics. No personally identifiable information is linked to these events. See firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

Resend

Used exclusively to send transactional emails such as account confirmation, password resets, and important service notices. Your email address is shared with Resend only for this purpose. See resend.com/privacy.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Specifically:

  • Account data — retained until you delete your account, after which it is permanently removed within 30 days.
  • Journal entries and reflections — retained until you delete them within the app, or until account deletion.
  • Voice recordings and generated audio — retained in your personal Supabase storage bucket. Deleting your account deletes all associated audio files.
  • Anonymised analytics — retained in aggregate form for up to 24 months.
  • Purchase records — retained as required by applicable tax and financial regulations (typically 7 years).

6. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Deletion — request deletion via Settings → Account → Delete Account in the app, or by emailing us.
  • Data export — request an export of your journal entries, session history, and profile data in JSON format.
  • Opt out of analytics — disable anonymous usage tracking in app Settings.
  • Push notifications — manage via Settings → My Reminders or your device settings.

California residents may have additional rights under the CCPA. EU/EEA residents may have additional rights under the GDPR.

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete the information.

8. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+), encryption at rest for sensitive fields, and Row-Level Security policies in Supabase so users can only access their own data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and notify you via in-app notice or email.
